AFGE Members Fight Back with Rally for Jobs at Congressman John Carter’s (R-TX) Office

Here, constituents from U.S. Rep. John Carter’s (R-TX) congressional district join with leaders from the nation’s largest federal employee union (AFGE) to highlight the congressman’s anti-worker legislative agenda.

Rep. Carter voted to cut 10 percent of all federal jobs in Texas and across the country. This would mean a loss of more than 1,000 jobs in his district, or $40 million in lost revenue. He also supported policies to cut funding for programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid while rejecting efforts raise revenue by increasing taxes on the wealthiest Americans and corporations.
